Job summary

Sun Life is seeking an aspiring Cloud Engineer in Southwestern Ontario to assist in implementing cloud infrastructure under guidance. You will participate in cloud migrations, follow governance policies, and contribute to optimization efforts.

Mentorship from senior engineers will help you learn security practices, automation, and multi-cloud strategies. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in cloud computing and a university degree, with exposure to Terraform, CloudFormation, and enterprise IT

Qualifications

• Possesses a university degree and/or 5+ years relevant work experience.
• 1-2 years of hands-on Cloud Computing experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience with industry frameworks such as CMMI, ITIL, or Six Sigma.
• Experience implementing processes to meet organizational needs at an enterprise level.

What will you do?

• Assist in implementing cloud infrastructure solutions under guidance
• Participating in cloud migration projects and modernization initiatives
• Follow established cloud governance policies and best practices

• Execute automation scripts for infrastructure provisioning and management, incorporating GenAI-driven processes
• Support the implementation of multi-cloud or hybrid cloud solutions

• Collaborate with team members to align cloud work with business needs
• Monitor performance and assist with capacity planning for cloud environments
• Learn about and experiment with emerging cloud technologies

Experience, Skills and Education:
