Job summary

Workday is seeking a DevOps engineer to work on cloud platform technologies (AWS, GCP) and automate maintenance for engineering environments. You will collaborate with the Platform Engineering team to deploy changes and enable verification, while designing infra and automated systems for a distributed architecture.

You will build and manage CI/CD pipelines, optimize performance, and plan infrastructure for a fast-growing SaaS company.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building, maintaining and scaling database technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, DynamoDB).
• 2+ years with Prometheus/Grafana/CloudWatch metrics monitoring and ELK/OpenSearch logging; PagerDuty alerts.
• 2+ years managing EKS clusters; strong knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem.
• 2+ years orchestrating large-scale distributed microservice deployments on Kubernetes and EC2.
• 5+ years DevOps or software development experience.
• Automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized apps with Docker or Kubernetes.
• Security-centric in infra-as-code design and in Docker build pipelines and deployments.
• Proficient in Go, Python, Bash or Typescript for tooling and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design infrastructure and automated systems to support a distributed architecture.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and improve their reliability and speed.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering to deploy changes for verification.
• Forecast and plan infrastructure needs for a fast-growing SaaS platform.
• Establish infrastructure-as-code coverage for the entire platform.
• Develop tools to enhance Developer Productivity and reduce manual workload.
