Job description

Merit Services is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Cloud Architect to join our esteemed client’s dynamic team in the thriving city of Oshawa. As a Cloud Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the cloud infrastructure strategy, designing innovative solutions, and driving digital transformation for our client’s business operations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate closely with stakeholders, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop scalable cloud architecture solutions.
  2. Design and implement cloud-based solutions leveraging industry-leading platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  3. Develop comprehensive cloud strategies, encompassing security, scalability, availability, performance, and cost optimization.
  4. Drive the adoption of cloud best practices, ensuring robust security measures, high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection.
  5. Lead the evaluation, selection, and integration of cloud services, tools, and technologies to enhance the organization’s cloud capabilities.
  6. Architect and implement cloud-based infrastructure automation and orchestration to improve operational efficiency and enable rapid application deployment.
  7. Provide guidance and thought leadership on emerging cloud trends, innovative technologies, and industry best practices.
  8. Collaborate with development teams to optimize cloud-native application design, deployment, and monitoring.
  9. Conduct performance monitoring, capacity planning, and cost analysis to ensure optimal cloud resource utilization.
  10. Define and enforce cloud governance policies, standards, and compliance frameworks.
  11. Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and professional development.
Qualifications:
  1. Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or a similar role, with a successful track record of designing and implementing scalable cloud solutions.
  2. Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  3. Experience with cloud security and identity management, implementing robust access controls and data protection measures.
  4. Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible).
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering innovative solutions.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
