The Cloud Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure for complex workloads. The admin should possess expertise in migrating on-premises workloads and be able to design scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective solutions while documenting and communicating effectively.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure for development, testing, and production environments.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud services such as Virtual Machines, SQL (or other database services), Storage Accounts, VNET / VPC, Traffic Manager, CDN, DNS, Monitoring, and related services.
- Manage security and access control using Resource Groups, Network Security Groups, Azure Active Directory, IAM, Network ACLs or RBAC, Key Vault, and other security services.
- Develop and implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
- Analyze and optimize cloud costs for efficient resource use.
- Collaborate with development teams to provide guidance on cloud best practices, deployment strategies, and architecture.
- Provide technical support and guidance to IT staff.
- Document and share troubleshooting processes and solutions.
- Participate in continuous learning and professional development, sharing knowledge with peers.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of demonstrable experience working with cloud technologies.
- Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, others); certifications are a plus.
- Experience with cloud migration projects.
- Knowledge of Cloud Security Principles and DevSecOps practices.
- Ability to design and implement public cloud solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting for deployment, management, and scaling.
- Experience deploying managed Kubernetes (such as AKS) for container applications.
- Familiarity with SDLC methodologies.
- Knowledge of cloud networking and security best practices.
- Experience with application stack installation and configuration.
- Solid Windows and Linux OS administration skills.
- Experience with data backup and recovery systems.
- Ability to handle helpdesk requests and IT incidents.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server / Windows 10 administration, networking, AD, DHCP, routing.
Additional Qualifications
- One or more associate or professional cloud certifications.
- Multi-cloud proficiency (Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle, etc.).
- Knowledge of Azure/AWS cloud technologies.
- Azure/AWS certifications such as Developer, Architect, or SysOps Associate.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
