Maverick Volleyball is seeking experienced individuals to operate the clothing and merchandising portfolio for the organization, as a key member of the staff.
Job Summary
The Clothing and Merchandising Manager leads the strategic development and execution of all apparel and merchandise initiatives, ensuring a cohesive and high-quality representation of the Maverick brand. Central to the role is the management of team uniforms, which play a vital part in fostering identity, unity, and pride across the organization. Through thoughtful planning, trend-driven product development, and efficient store operations, this role ensures that every item—from performance wear to branded merchandise—meets the standards of excellence and supports the organization’s broader goals.
Key Responsibilities Include
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Set and guide the overall clothing, merchandise and store strategies and long-term goals.
Product Research & Trend Analysis
- Identify apparel trends and evaluate new product ideas.
- Ensure that all merchandise reflects the Maverick brand and meets quality standards.
- Perform regular surveys on product quality and customer satisfaction.
Product Planning & Lifecycle Management
- Create appropriate vector designs for all clothing production needs.
- Generate merchandise concepts based on current trends, including review submissions from members of the community.
- Present major uniform change proposals to the Leadership team.
- Manage product selection, pricing, and inventory planning.
- Track sales performance and maintain accurate records.
Supplier Relations & Procurement
- Source, test and select merchandise in collaboration with vendors.
- Prepare P.O.’s for suppliers, monitor status and quality of deliverables
- Monitor orders, fulfillment and manage deliveries of TeamWear, MavsWear, CoachWear, and other Merchandise.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work with the Marketing team on product launches and promotions.
- Liaise with team clothing coordinators and other departments.
Management of the store
- Prepare and manage Shopify products and orders.
- Daily store functions, inventory, organization, distribution.
- Facility cleanliness.
- Alert customers to new products.
Reporting
- Oversees the work of the Store Coordinator
Experience
Essential Qualifications
- 3–5 years in apparel merchandising, retail management, or brand apparel coordination.
- Experience with teamwear or uniform programs, especially in sports, schools, or corporate environments.
- Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify), including product setup, order management, and promotions.

Bachelor’s Degree In One Of The Following Fields

Important Information
This position is new and we expect the workload to be between 10 and 15 hours per week. That being said, we may discover that it may take up more or less time as we learn more about the role. The successful candidate should expect fluctuations in the estimated weekly hours.
The role is classified as Hybrid. Most work can be done virtually, but the incumbent will be required to visit the store weekly to monitor the activities.
