Job summary

Children's Mental Health Ontario is seeking a Clinician – Registered for an 18-month full-time contract position based in New Liskeard, Ontario. The clinician will provide psychotherapy, counselling, and clinical assessments for children and youth up to 18 years old, and support families within a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will hold appropriate registration (OCSWSSW/CRPO/College) and possess strong clinical skills in pediatric mental health, with English/French bilingualism

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or related field is preferred.
  • Eligibility or registration with Ontario health colleges (OCSWSSW/CRPO/College of Nurses) must be current and maintained.
  • Clinical skills in children's mental health.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other professionals.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
  • Must have or be eligible for a valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle.

CLINICIAN – REGISTERED
Eighteen (18) Month Full-time Contract Position in New Liskeard

As a member of the Child and Youth Mental Health team, the Clinician – Registered will provide psychotherapy, single sessions, counselling and psychotherapy, support and clinical assessments to address identified behavioural, social and emotional needs of children, adolescents (up to eighteen (18) years of age) and their family support systems. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, resourceful and innovative, working within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of professionals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS)
  • A Masters Degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or a Health-Related Discipline is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor of Social Work, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or other four year Honours degrees combined with a College diploma accepted by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or College of Nurses of Ontario will be considered.
  • Must be eligible or registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) as a Social Worker, the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse, the College of Psychologists or the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario in accordance with the Psychotherapy Act. Membership to the respective College must be maintained annually.
  • Clinical skills in the area of childrens mental health.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other professionals.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is asset.
  • Candidates must possess a minimum G2 drivers license at the time of application and be willing to obtain a valid G Class drivers license as a condition of employment or already possess a valid G Class drivers license and have access to their own vehicle.

À titre de membre de l’équipe de santé mentale des enfants et jeunes, la clinicienne ou le clinicien inscrite ou inscrit fournira des services de psychothérapie, des séances individuelles, du counseling, un appui et des évaluations cliniques pour régler les besoins comportementaux, sociaux et affectifs cernés chez les enfants, les jeunes (jusqu’à dix-huit [18] ans) et les réseaux de soutien de leur famille. L’heureuse candidate ou l’heureux candidat sera une personne qui fera preuve d’initiative, de débrouillardise et d’innovation en travaillant avec une équipe multidisciplinaire dynamique de professionnels ou de professionnelles.

EXIGENCES DE L’EMPLOI (QUALITÉS ET COMPÉTENCES REQUISES)
  • Matrise en travail social, en counseling, en psychologie ou dans une discipline lie la sant est prfrable. Un baccalaurat en travail social ou un baccalaurat en sciences infirmires ou autres baccalaurats spcialiss de quatre ans combins un diplme collgial reconnu par lOrdre des travailleurs sociaux et des techniciens en travail social de lOntario (OTSTTSO), lOrdre des psychothrapeutes autoriss de lOntario (OPAO) ou l’Ordre des infirmires et infirmiers de l’Ontario peut galement tre considr.
  • Doit tre admissible ou inscrit(e) et en rgle auprs des travailleurs sociaux et des techniciens en travail social de lOntario (OTSTTSO) titre de travailleur(euse) social(e), de lOrdre des psychothrapeutes autoriss de lOntario (OPAO), de l’Ordre des infirmires et infirmiers de l’Ontario titre dinfirmier(re) autorise, de l’Ordre des psychologues de l’Ontario ou de l’Ordre des ergothrapeutes de l’Ontario. Ladhsion lOrdre respectif doit tre maintenue annuellement.
  • Comptences cliniques dans le domaine de la sant mentale des enfants.
  • Capacit de travailler avec efficacit et en collaboration avec dautres professionnelles et professionnels.
  • Excellentes aptitudes communiquer, excellent entregent et excellent sens de lorganisation.
  • Le bilinguisme (anglais/franais) est atout.
  • Les candidats doivent tre titulaires d’un permis de conduire G2 au moment de leur candidature et tre disposs obtenir un permis de conduire G valide comme condition d’emploi, ou tre dj titulaires d’un permis de conduire G valide et avoir accs leur propre vhicule.
