Position Description

Hospital for Sick Children – Division of Nephrology

Effective immediately, a full-time permanent faculty position as Clinician Educator and Program Director is available in the Division of Nephrology, Department of Paediatrics, at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Avenue, Toronto, ON, a quaternary academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children, affiliated with the University of Toronto. We are seeking candidates with a passion for paediatric nephrology demonstrating a track record of productivity suitable for an Assistant or Associate Professor appointment.

The division encompasses all aspects of clinical paediatric nephrology, has one of the largest fellowship training programs in the world, and leads internationally in basic and clinical research. Applicants will be expected to participate actively in the clinical, educational, and research activities of the program. In particular, applicants will be expected to lead the division’s educational portfolio as Director of the Fellowship Program.

The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($227,000-276,000) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance, and a relocation package.

All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or the equivalent, and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
