Job summary

University Health Network (UHN) is seeking a Clinical Study and Regulatory Assistant for the Cancer Genomics Program at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. The role focuses on preparing REB and CAPCR submissions, creating study documents, and curating data into electronic case report forms (eCRFs) while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will support study coordination, attend meetings, and perform essential administrative tasks to enable genomics research trials.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Interpret regulations and study protocols to ensure compliance.

Salary Range: $27.56 - $41.34 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: Monday - Friday

Status: Temporary Full-time

The Cancer Genomics Program (CGP) is a research program at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre dedicated to advancing personalized cancer medicine through the identification of underlying genetic mutations and molecular mechanisms that drive cancer. The program's oncology clinical research portfolio includes a broad spectrum of genomics trials across multiple cancer types. The CGP team provides management and coordination for all of its trials and is in need of a Clinical Study and Regulatory Assistant at this time.

Duties

• Prepare Research Ethics Board (REB) and institutional Coordinated Approval Process for Clinical Research (CAPCR) submissions and amendments
• Create and/or review study documents
• Curate clinical data from medical charts and other source documents into electronic case report forms (eCRFs); resolve data queries.
• Collect completed genomic study consent forms from Princess Margaret hospital clinics when on-site
• Interpret applicable regulations, study protocols, hospital and departmental guidelines, and professional standards of practice in order to ensure compliance in clinical research conduct while coordinating genomics research studies.
• Attend and contribute to program and study meetings.
• Undertake study-related administrative tasks such as organizing meetings, taking minutes, scanning documents, and obtaining signatures

Qualifications

• At minimum, completion of Community college diploma in a health-related discipline, or equivalent required
• 3 to 6 months related experience
• Clinical research experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in a health/science discipline, or equivalent (preferred)
• Clinical Research Graduate Certificate (preferred)
• Demonstrated relevant clinical research knowledge
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in some or all of oncology, clinical trials, medical terminology, and regulatory issues involving human subjects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization, prioritization skills, computer skills, ability to learn quickly and work independently
• Excellent interpersonal skill
• Ability to work under pressure and attend to details
• Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards
• Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks
• Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies
• Satisfactory attendance
• Certification as a Clinical Research Professional an asset
