Job description

This position involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to evaluate patients' medical or physical conditions and assess client needs as part of an interdisciplinary team. The role requires working collaboratively with all healthcare team members to develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans for both individual patients and the medical community.

Responsibilities include:

1. Conducting individual psychiatric evaluations
2. Holding daily individual sessions with assigned patients and leading treatment groups
3. Providing family outreach and counseling as needed
4. Coordinating with outpatient treatment teams
5. Completing Treatment Plans and Discharge Summaries timely to meet clinical and regulatory standards, and arranging referrals for aftercare
6. Collaborating with and providing social work consultation to other disciplines
7. Participating in Departmental and Hospital committees as appropriate
8. Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited program
• Current professional licensure in Massachusetts
• LICSW preferred
• Graduate-level internship experience in a relevant setting
• Adherence to all C.A.R.E. Standards
• Knowledge of medical/psychiatric illnesses, procedures, and treatments
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Ability to conduct rapid psychosocial and psychiatric assessments and provide treatment for individuals, families, couples, and groups
• Cultural sensitivity and age-specific competency
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of community agencies/resources and ability to advocate for patients
• Computer skills

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and balancing
