Job summary

Air Liquide Home Healthcare Canada seeks a Clinical Respiratory Consultant to conduct sleep diagnostic testing, set up equipment, and tailor respiratory therapy plans for patients in Victoria, BC. You will initiate PAP therapy, educate patients on device use, and provide ongoing follow-up to improve therapy adherence and comfort.

The role requires licensure as a respiratory therapist, knowledge of OSA and CPAP therapy, and experience with sleep testing.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential with provincial license
• Knowledge of sleep medicine and CPAP therapy clinical practice
• Experience with sleep diagnostic testing per AASM guidelines
• Proficient using Microsoft Office, Google apps and Android devices

Responsibilities

• Conduct sleep diagnostic testing appointments and equipment setup per AASM guidelines
• Evaluate therapies based on referrals and collaborate with physicians on treatment plans
• Initiate PAP therapy, educate patients on use, and service devices
• Provide regular follow-up to monitor therapy effectiveness and adjust as needed
• Promote related products and address client needs with service solutions
• Maintain ongoing professional education to keep abreast of latest therapies
• Ensure safety and adherence to company protocols for cleaning and disinfection
• Complete all required administrative tasks and ensure proper documentation
• Understand funding processes and maintain compliance with systems
• Protect client confidentiality and Air Liquide Healthcare operations
• Contribute to branch quality improvement and workflow optimization
• Instruct and mentor new staff and students when required
• Participate in oxygen and other respiratory services including on-call duties

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

• Conduct appointments and set-up of equipment for sleep diagnostic testing based on American Academy Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines.
• Evaluate client therapies based on referrals and then determine respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
• Initiate PAP therapy when prescribed, providing patients with education, instructions of use, and cleaning and maintaining their equipment.
• Provides appropriate regular follow-up to clients to evaluate effects of therapeutic care, recommending adjustments and modifications if required to increase compliance and comfort with therapy.
• Actively promotes related products and provides solutions to client needs.
• Responsible for maintaining most up to date continuing education as related to the position to ensure that clients are receiving most current therapies and devices.
• Recognizes the importance of client safety in the Air Liquide Healthcare organization.
• Responsible for following established company protocols for the cleaning and disinfection of all equipment.
• Responsible for all required administration tasks.
• Responsible for complying and maintaining knowledge of all funding processes and systems.
• Ensures quality documentation through completion of all company documentation and forms (both digital and non-electronic) as per policy.
• Maintains client confidentiality and protects Air Liquide Healthcare’s operations by keeping information confidential.
• Seeks to continuously improve the operation of the branch by evaluating processes and workflow, and participating in other quality improvement activities.
• Provides new staff and student instruction, supervision and evaluation when necessary.
• Participates in oxygen and other respiratory services including on call when required.

• RPN/LPN and or RPSGT or CCSH
• Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist
• College Certificate or Diploma in a Technical/ Medical Science field where permitted
• Licensed to practice with the provincial governing body
• Good knowledge of Obstructive Sleep Apnea and CPAP therapy
• Working knowledge of Microsoft, Google applications and Android

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualification and other job-related reasons. This job grade falls within a salary band starting at the minimum of $65,000 with opportunity for advancement.
