Job summary

Air Liquide Home Healthcare Canada is seeking a highly energetic Respiratory Therapist/LPN/RPN for the Qualicum Beach location. You will educate and provide quality healthcare services, initiating CPAP and Oxygen therapy, performing assessments, and ensuring patient safety while collaborating with referring physicians and care teams.

Responsibilities include conducting full respiratory assessments, developing treatment plans, performing equipment delivery, and following up to evaluate therapy

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• RPN/LPN and/or RPSGT or CCSH credentials required.
• Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist credential preferred.
• College Certificate or Diploma in a Technical/Medical Science field where permitted.
• Licensed to practice with the provincial governing body.
• Good knowledge of Obstructive Sleep Apnea and CPAP therapy.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft, Google applications and Android.

• Perform respiratory assessments and develop treatment plans in consultation with physicians and care teams.
• Deliver equipment and supplies and ensure patient safety; conduct follow-up on therapy.
• Assess home environments for safety and perform equipment quality checks.
• Maintain knowledge of funding processes and system procedures.
• Participate in sleep duties including initiating PAP therapy when prescribed.
• Document all therapy and initiate funding documents as required.

Air Liquide Home Healthcare Canada is currently recruiting a highly energetic and motivated Respiratory Therapist/LPN/RPN for our Qualicum Beach location. You will be educating and providing quality healthcare services to our clients by initiating CPAP & Oxygen therapy, performing assessments, conducting follow-up service and providing client support while collaborating with referring physicians and ensuring patient safety.

• Provides quality care by conducting a full respiratory assessment; diagnostics as applicable; assessing and evaluating test results; delivering of equipment and supplies as required; developing respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with the client, physicians and care teams as per prescription and established company best practices.
• Provides appropriate follow-up to clients to evaluate effects of treatment plan, comfort of client when using treatment and addresses compliance with therapy.
• Assess clients home environment for safety, identifies and addresses areas of concern, and performs equipment quality control checks on a recurring basis.
• Maintains continuing education and knowledge of clinical best practices.
• Responsible for complying and maintaining knowledge of all funding processes and systems.
• When required participates in sleep duties including initiating PAP therapy when prescribed
• Assessing and evaluating patient test results
• Delivering of equipment and supplies
• Determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and care teams
• Identifying discrepancies with respiratory therapy treatments and conveying them to the care team
• Ensuring the completion of all documentation and form to initiate therapy
• Providing proper fitting of facial interface for long term CPAP or BILEVEL treatment
• Providing follow-up to Clients to evaluate effects of treatment plan
• Preparing funding documents and facilitating payment
• Demonstrating and educating patients on usage of products and services
• Contributing to the growth of VitalAire by liaising with medical professionals

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualification and other job-related reasons. This job grade falls within a salary band starting at the minimum of $65,000 with opportunity for advancement.
