Job summary

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a Clinical Resource Nurse to deliver expert nursing care to residents and guide nursing staff within a supportive care team. You will perform charge nurse functions, advance nursing practice, and collaborate with physicians to improve patient outcomes.

The role requires engagement with professional standards, documentation accuracy, and ongoing clinical education of staff, including orientation and competency development.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree preferred.
• Eligible for licensure in Manitoba as RN or RPN.
• Minimum 3 years of recent clinical nursing experience in the unit.
• Certifications preferred: PIECES, Feeding and Swallowing, Non-violent Crisis Intervention.
• Evidence of nursing leadership education or management training.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
• Knowledge of nursing standards and ability to apply them.
• Ability to make effective nursing care decisions.
• Proficiency with Windows-based programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong problem solving, organization, and independence in work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient care activities with the health care team.
• Provides direct nursing care to patients and families as needed.
• Makes patient care judgments with the team using assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Coach and provide feedback to staff on nursing care.
• Maintain current knowledge of patient status and notify relevant personnel of significant situations.
• Assist in staff resource planning to meet patient needs.
• Contribute to nursing standards and policies; participate in quality improvement.
• Provide clinical education to nursing staff and coordinate staff orientation.
