University Health Network’s Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto invites applications for a Clinical Research Coordinator I. The role supports hereditary cancer genetics and tumor profiling studies, reporting to the Medical Geneticist and collaborating with the Early Detection team.

The successful candidate will coordinate patient identification, enrollment, regulatory submissions, data collection and study documentation, ensuring compliance with ICH/GCP and UHN policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in a health or science-related field.
• Minimum of 3 years clinical and/or professional experience with 1 year of clinical research experience.
• Knowledge of clinical research principles, regulations, and IATA shipping regulations desirable.
• Experience with database maintenance and electronic patient records.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients meeting hereditary genetic testing criteria and assist in testing.
• Enroll patients into tumour profiling studies.
• Coordinate liquid biopsy studies for hereditary cancer syndromes.
• Recruit study participants and obtain informed consent.
• Plan, collect, and document data per policies and ICH/GCP.
• Collaborate with team on recruitment, data generation, and database updates.
• Coordinate regulatory documents, ethics submissions, and general paperwork.

This role will encompass a variety of cancer genetics and genomics research studies in hereditary cancer early detection. Reporting to Dr. Raymond Kim, Medical Geneticist and Medical Director – Early Cancer Detection, the Clinical Research Coordinator I collaborates with the Manager, Principal Investigator and research health care team to assume responsibility for the overall coordination and management of a variety of hereditary cancer syndrome projects. DutiesAs a member of the Early Detection team, the responsibilities of the Clinical Research Coordinator, include:

• Identification of patients fulfilling hereditary genetic testing criteria and assist in organizing clinical genetic testing for their patients
• Enrollment of patients into tumour profiling studies
• Coordinating liquid biopsy studies for patients with hereditary cancer syndromes (www.charmconsortium.ca)
• Recruitment of study participants (e.g. identify and screen potential subjects, coordinate for blood tests and tissue bank, coordinate patient visits, obtain informed consent, execution of study visit) for multiple studies
• Planning, implementing and coordinating all aspects of data collection, source documentation and data entry per UHN policy and ICH/GCP guidelines
• Collaborating with team members on tasks related to participant recruitment, data generation and updating databases
• Coordinating with the Project Manager to execute administrative tasks, such as collection of regulatory documents, ethics submissions and general paperwork

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in a health or science-related field
• Minimum of 3 years clinical and/or professional experience with 1-year of clinical research experience, preferred
• Certification as a Clinical Research Professional an asset
• Knowledge and interest in hereditary cancer genetics, genetic testing and genomic technologies, required
• Experience with database maintenance and electronic patient record systems
• Knowledge of clinical research principles, research regulations and IATA shipping regulations an asset
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with high attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly, problem solve, set priorities and work independently
• Confident in working with a variety of stakeholders and people from different disciplines
• Strong proficiency with MS Office software, Word, Excel and Outlook
