Position Description

TheClinical Research Project Assistant(CRPA, Exercise Physiology) works closely with the Clinical Research Centre’s (CRC) Exercise Physiologist assisting the CRC team with study operations and participant visit activities conducted in the Exercise Physiology Lab. The CRPA may assist in the preparation of interim data, including presentations, progress reports, and manuscripts. The CRPA may work with clinical coordinators, SickKids Clinical Research Centre nurses, SickKids Central Biobank research technologists, SickKids clinical research teams and clinician scientists, affiliated institutes, and collaborative networks.

Here’s What You’ll Get to Do

  • Assist with administrative tasks related to grant and/or manuscript preparation.
  • Conduct medical literature searches, maintain literature databases and retrieving articles online.
  • Perform data management including checking data for accuracy and completeness, scoring data, entering data and data cleaning.
  • Conduct health chart reviews.
  • Personal training of staff.
  • Conduct exercise testing in children.
  • Participate in clinical research as well as clinical activities.
  • Delivery of wellness workshops to staff.

Here’s What You’ll Need

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, with a current Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) certification (Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology) or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of exercise testing and exercise physiology.
  • Ability to function independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, facilitation and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft 365, MEDLINE searches, other online research tools)
  • Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives.

Asset

  • Experience working with children.
  • Previous research experience.
