Clinical Psychologist Registrar – Mental Health

Salary: HSO Grade 1 $110,666 - $119,660 per annum pro rata. Location: Metropolitan and Perth Children’s Hospital. Community CAMHS Work Type: Fixed Term - Full Time, Permanent - Full Time.

Position Profile and Role

The in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health issues. CAMHS are seeking to appoint board-approved Clinical Psychologist Registrars who can provide clinical, consultant, education and research psychology service to infants, children, young people, and their families within a multidisciplinary and professional team context, under the supervision of a Board approved clinical psychologist.

As a Clinical Psychologist Registrar at CAMHS, you will deliver quality psychological care within our service including the provision of psychological assessments, evidence based psychological interventions and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive clinical management and intervention planning.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering individual, dyadic, group, community, and hospital-based therapies, including (but not limited to) cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, and family therapy.
  • Conducting psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, behavioural, and family functioning.
  • Providing consultation, advice, and training on psychological matters to colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engaging in professional development and supervision towards full registration.
  • Maintaining client records, complying with guidelines for therapy and testing materials, and contributing to performance monitoring and improvement.
Qualifications and Application Requirements
  • A current resume and cover letter summarises your experience and how you are able to meet the position requirements.
  • Evidence of Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and eligibility for full registration and Clinical Psychology Registrar status with the Psychology Board of Australia. (Essential Criteria 1). New graduates are welcome to apply while their AHPRA registration is pending. As this is a pool recruitment process, you will not be appointed until your registration is confirmed.
  • A statement addressing Essential Selection Criteria 2 to 7, including relevant examples, limited to a maximum of three pages.
  • Provide the names and email contact details of two professional referees, they should be a current or previous (within the last 2 years) Line Manager. Please note we do not accept colleagues as a professional reference.
