Job Description
Clinical Health Psychology (CHP), Shared Health, in conjunction with the Department of Clinical Health Psychology (CHP) Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba invite applications for a Geographic Full-Time (GFT, contingent) Clinical Psychologist (Position #34568) with a flexible start date. This permanent position integrates clinical and academic roles (typically 80% clinical; 20% applied clinical teaching/applied research). The successful applicant will be appointed to the Medical Staff of Shared Health, and will be appointed to the Department of Clinical Health Psychology, Max Rady College of Medicine, at the academic rank commensurate with experience, typically Assistant Professor. Current interns/residents are welcome to apply.
Primarily based at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, one of Manitoba’s major teaching and acute care hospitals, the Clinical Psychologist is part of CHP’s Geropsychology Service. The incumbent will provide outpatient psychological evaluation and treatment, and inpatient consultation for older adults for a range of mental health and medical conditions common to this life stage, including (e.g.,) anxiety, grief, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and caregiver stress. The Geropsychology team works with specialists such as geriatricians and psychiatrists, as well as with community including family physicians.
Clinical Health Psychology (CHP) is unique in Canada, being both an academic department in the Max Rady College of Medicine and a provincially-led clinical service in the Manitoba health system, with a mandate to provide psychological services across a range of hospital and community sites in urban and rural/northern settings. As a member of CHP, the Psychologist joins a large team of dedicated psychologist colleagues across the province who provide mentoring, consultation, and collegial support.

Position Responsibilities:
• Psychological evaluation of older adults, including psychodiagnostic and cognitive assessment
• Psychological treatment of mental health and chronic medical conditions
• Consultation to adult inpatient units, including bedside intervention
• Clinical supervision and training in our CPA-accredited psychology residency program. Teaching of medical students and learners from other health professions.
• Applied clinical research.
Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA-accredited clinical psychology training program, and completion of a CPA or APA accredited internship/residency.
• Registered or eligible for registration as a Psychologist (C.Psych.) with the Psychological Association of Manitoba www.cpmb.ca
• Education, training and experience with evidence-based psychological interventions for mental health and medical presentations
• Education, training and experience in diagnostic evaluation and cognitive assessment, including the administration and interpretation of standard psychological and neurocognitive tests and measures, with strong differential diagnosis skills
• Education, training and experience with assessment and treatment of older adults is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, oral and written communication, and inter-professional teamwork skills.
• Satisfactory results of pre-employment criminal record, vulnerable person and child and adult abuse registry checks are required.

• Supervision will be provided by the CHP Program for individuals registered at the C.Psych. Candidate level, until completion of registration requirements for independent practice as a C.Psych.
