Job description

Position Summary
We have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join the Mental Health Substance Use (MHSU) Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) team at the Kamloops Mental Health Centre in beautiful Kamloops, B.C.

Salary Range:
Effective April 1, 2024, the pay scale for this position is $52.81 to $65.96.

**Eligible applicants can receive up to $15K signing bonus.

What will you work on?
The Clinical Psychologist is a key member of the Tertiary Mental Health Services team, responsible for delivering comprehensive psychological services, including assessment, individual and group therapy, and treatment planning. This role emphasizes a bio/psycho/social approach to care, integrating psychological insights into broader treatment plans and ensuring coordination with community agencies and other providers.

Some responsibilities include:
  1. Provides comprehensive psychological assessment services.
  2. Incorporates psychological assessment results with the broader treatment plan.
  3. Provides evidenced based individual short-term therapy/counseling interventions.
  4. Participates in client/patient conferences and team meetings.
  5. Supports an interdisciplinary approach to client/patient care.
  6. Provides consultation regarding management and/or treatment of mental, behavioural, adjustment and psychosocial disorders.
  7. Evaluates effectiveness and appropriateness of treatment and resources.
  8. Supports evidence based clinical practice by contributing to the development of recommendations for change.

Scheduling Information:
Shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours. Days of work are Monday to Friday.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
  1. Ph.D. in Psychology from a university recognized by the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
  2. Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (or eligible for registration).
  3. Five years recent related experience in clinical psychology.
