About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Contract Management the Clinical Procurement Consultant supports the delivery of a comprehensive integrated supply chain service for the NSHA ensuring an alignment between strategic and operational planning and excellence in client relations.Using a “people and client first” approach, the Consultant will support current and emerging technologies and practices to establish a robust people focused and service excellence culture across the province. This position contributes to strategic and operational leadership to corporate functions which envision, enable and support the ongoing development and delivery of high quality, provincially integrated health programs and services that are based on provincial standards of care, efficient, sustainable, safe and responsive to the needs of Nova Scotians. The position contributes to the leadership of support strategies and operational plans consistent with legislation, accountability frameworks and the mission, vision and values of the organization. The position supports a provincially integrated process and assists with leading the design and development of all supply chain related processes, plans and policies to support the effective, efficient and sustainable delivery of all NSHA services and programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supports the cross functional strategic planning of the goods services and equipment procurement requirements for NSHA programs to support patient care, safety and value.
  • Ensures that the NSHA program leadership vision is represented and achieved through procurement strategy
  • Participates in relevant category governance committees
  • Provides ad hoc updates to program leaders on activities and events related to procurement within their program
  • Supports the prioritization of procurement requirements taking into consideration patient care, financial stewardship, and administrative resources.
  • Responsible for promoting the needs of the NSHA program within the procurement process
  • Promotes procurement process and outcomes that improve service delivery quality and value, ensuring a robustsustainable system in a changing environment with significant pressures.
  • Relationship management supports the cross functional networking of processes within the supply chain service and across applicable NSHA, IWK, Nova Scotia Government programs and services.
  • Responsible for supporting use of evidence to inform the planning and execution of procurement initiatives.
  • Networks across stakeholder groups to ensure that the right individuals are identified and engaged to participate in procurement projects
About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Science, or Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience with clinical product sales or clinical procurement required
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment
  • Experience with procurement process preferred
  • Proven history providing support and customer service to senior leaders in an organization
  • Proven history building and fostering collaborative relationships with organizational leaders
  • Experience consistently displaying professionalism in all interactions with customers
  • Contract life cycle knowledge and or experience in a phase of the contract life cycle
  • Critical thinker with strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and strict deadlines
  • Master of Business Administrationconsidered an asset
  • Graduate of a recognized nursing program or medical technology program considered an asset
  • Recognized Professional Supply Chain Designation (CPP/SCMP or P Log),Project management professional (PMP) certification,LEAN certification,changemanagement certification, consideredassets
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent, Full-time / 75 Hours Bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits

$35.27 - $44.09 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
