Clinical Practice Manager - Clinical Scholar Program

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Professional Practice and collaborating with Program Managers, the Clinical Practice Manager is responsible for advancing nursing knowledge and professional practice to ensure evidence-based, individualized patient and family care. This role involves directing and developing advanced nursing practices within the program and across the patient care spectrum, as well as managing nursing competency, specifically focusing on newly graduated nurses, internationally educated nurses, and nurses requiring upskilling or support transitioning into the workforce or a new hospital unit, in support of the Clinical Scholar Program.

This position will interact with all levels of the multidisciplinary team, patients, families, and leadership across departments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead nursing staff and healthcare teams in evidence-based advanced nursing practices, needs analysis, and change strategies.
  • Support nursing staff development in clinical decision-making through various educational activities.
  • Serve as a resource for interdisciplinary strategies to achieve patient-focused outcomes.
  • Develop program-specific patient and nursing care standards aligned with organizational and regulatory guidelines.
  • Lead the development and revision of clinical standards and core competencies based on evidence.
  • Model the application of nursing standards and philosophy in patient care and education.
  • Manage and develop nursing education and professional development programs.
  • Conduct needs assessments to determine educational and legislative requirements.
  • Establish clinical outcomes for education programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Telemetry experience – required.
  • Minimum 5 years of recent relevant clinical experience – required.
  • Minimum 3 years of patient, family, and staff teaching experience – preferred.
  • French language proficiency – assets.
  • Registered Nurse eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – required; Master’s preferred.
  • ACLS certification – required.
