Job summary

Interior Health in Vernon, BC is seeking a relief full-time Clinical Practice Educator to lead nursing education for Medical, Health Care Aides and Ambulatory Care. The role supports education, practice excellence, and quality improvement, with an end date of September 08, 2027 or return of incumbent.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Three years recent related nursing experience in the designated clinical area of focus/specialty including two years formal experience in areas such as adult teaching and learning, clinical mentoring and preceptoring, clinical instruction, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in the delivery of nursing education and instruction to staff and patients/clients based on adult education principles and philosophy within a specific clinical specialty or patient population.
• Applies nursing theory, advanced knowledge, and leadership concepts in providing clinical guidance and resource support to staff.
• Assists the Manager in establishing and maintaining standards of care and participates in continuous quality improvement environment.

In this role, the Clinical Practice Educator will play a key part in advancing clinical education and practice excellence across the team. The end date of this position is September 08, 2027, or return of incumbent.

Shift Times:

Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:30.

What will you work on?

The Clinical Practice Educator (CPE) provides leadership in the delivery of nursing education and instruction to staff and patients/clients based on adult education principles and philosophy within a specific clinical specialty or patient/client population. The CPE applies nursing theory, advanced knowledge and leadership concepts in providing clinical guidance and resource support to staff. The CPE assists the Manager in establishing and maintaining standards of care and in providing and participating in continuous quality improvement environment. The CPE provides guidance and support to staff in the application of the nursing process in the provision of patient/client care.
