A regional healthcare provider in Kitimat is seeking a registered Clinical Pharmacist to join their Primary Care department. Position Summary

Are you a registered Clinical Pharmacist looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Primary Care department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health and reporting to the Pharmacy Operations Lead, Primary and Long-Term Care, this position provides clinical pharmacy services to patients of the primary care network. As a member of an interprofessional team, this position works directly with patients to identify and resolve actual and potential drug therapy problems through the provision of comprehensive medication management.

Position covers Kitimat/Haisla Primary Care Network.

Primary Care Networks are partnerships between the Divisions of Family Practice representing BC's family physicians, the regional health authorities, the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), and local community partners, along with other community providers such as nurse practitioners. All partners are working together in their local communities to redesign BC's primary and community care system for better patient and provider experiences.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days - 08:30 to 16:30, Rotating
Flexibility to adjust workdays and hours upon applicant's request, provided it aligns with clients' needs, operational requirements, and maintains the posted Full-Time Equivalent (FTE)

Kitimat

Set in a beautiful ocean, mountain, and valley paradise, Kitimat is located on the Douglas Channel just off British Columbia's inside passage. Built in the 1950s, it is one of BC's youngest coastal communities. Main industries include aluminum, pulp and paper, and petrochemical manufacturing. The population is approximately 8,236. Qualifications

  • Current registration with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia and a minimum of 2 years recent, related patient care experience, ideally in a team-based primary care setting or equivalent.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.

  • Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety interventions.
  • Ability to teach patients and others both one-on-one and in groups.
  • Integrates best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions.
  • Effective communication with patients, families, medical staff, and the interdisciplinary team using verbal, written, and electronic means. Ability to apply conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to evaluate data from multiple sources to problem-solve and make effective decisions, demonstrating critical thinking and a systems approach.
  • Promotes patient-centered care, cultural sensitivity, patient advocacy, and social justice.
  • Organizes work, sets objectives, establishes priorities, manages time and resources, and collaborates across disciplines.
  • Fosters teamwork, staff morale, engagement, and ongoing professional development.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including EHR, Windows programs, data analysis, email, and related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
