Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited in Red Deer, Alberta, is hiring a Pharmacist responsible for receiving, preparing and delivering prescriptions accurately and timely. You will ensure adequate inventory to meet patient needs and counsel with proper documentation, while engaging with internal and external customers and educating the public.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, is registered with the ACP, and has Additional Prescribing Authority.

Responsibilities

• Counsel of patients in regards to new and additional medications in a friendly, positive and pro‑active interaction.
• Create awareness and educate customers through public relations (public health days, clinics, etc.).
• Provide timely and positive resolution to patient’s needs and Doctor’s requests/issues.
• Provide medication extensions as required and OTC counselling.
• Prescribe forminor ailments and chronic disease management.
• Perform medication reconciliation, identify and resolve drug related problems, support patient care goals, and perform follow ups when needed.

This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager and is responsible for receiving, preparing and delivery of Rx accurately and timely. Ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet patient’s needs, and counsel with appropriate documentation to all patients. Provide friendly, positive and pro‑active interaction with all internal and external customers as well create awareness and educate customers through public relations.
