Qualifications

  • Current licensure with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia required.

Financial Support for Moving Expenses is available for this position

Are you someone who has a real passion for helping others? Are you a Pharmacist looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Pharmacy department.

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, this position provides pharmacy services to patients in Northern Health. As a member of an interprofessional team, this position assesses and recommends individualized treatments. Acts as the primary resource for drug information, education, and provides expert advice to healthcare professionals. Monitors drug prescribing, drug distribution, and drug therapy to ensure safe, effective, rational, legal, and economical use of drugs. Maintains workload records and statistics.

Shift Rotation / Hours of work : Monday to Friday / Days - 07:30 to 15:30, 08:00 to 16:00. Rotation will change to include weekend shifts.

Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is the largest hospital in northwest BC with 27 acute care beds. They offer emergency services, ultrasound, CT scans, surgery, extended care, pediatrics, radiology, and obstetrics. Additional services include diabetes education, health heart and rehabilitation, podiatry, orthopedics, and other visiting specialists.

Prince Rupert is a coastal port city with a population of 12,220 (2021). It is nestled into a mountain and surrounded by the Great Bear Rainforest. Visitors can see rare wildlife, explore rugged landscapes, and experience world-class fishing adventures. Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy and current licensure with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia. Completion of a Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program or a combination of at least one year of hospital experience and advanced education courses. Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged.

  • Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze data, problem-solve, and make decisions using a systems approach.
  • Human Caring and Relationship Centered Practice: Promote patient-centered care, cultural sensitivity, advocacy, and social justice.
  • Management: Organize work, set objectives, prioritize, and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Leadership: Foster team morale, engagement, and innovation.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a team to provide excellent patient care.
  • Equipment: Proficiency with Cerner, Windows-based programs, data analysis tools, email, and related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
