Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Clinical Operations Supervisor for the Extended Care Clinical Administration team at Minoru Residence in Richmond, BC. The role leads care delivery programs, fosters best practices, and ensures safety and quality in a busy clinical setting.

Qualified candidates will hold current RN or RPN registration with BCCNM, possess a nursing baccalaureate, and have at least five years of related experience including supervisory leadership.

Qualifications

• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with BCCNM.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing and/or Psychiatric Nursing.
• Five (5) years recent related experience in a large complex health organization.
• Three (3) years supervisory leadership experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all aspects of care delivery and daily activities of designated programs/areas, providing leadership in program development and clinical education.
• Ensures a high standard of care and promotes interdisciplinary practice in a safe environment for staff and clients.
• Recruits, hires, mentors and retains staff; conducts Attendance Wellness Promotion, Respectful Workplace and other HR-related meetings.
• Provides clinical and administrative supervision and consultation across the team; facilitates team building and maintains open communication with stakeholders.

Job description

Come work as a Clinical Operations Supervisor with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) on the Extended Care Clinical Administration team at Minoru Residence in Richmond, BC.

Practices within the standards of professional practice and code of ethics for Registered Nurses or Registered Psychiatric Nurses as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Oversees all aspects of care delivery and daily activities of designated programs/areas. Provides leadership in program development areas related to best practices in designated programs/areas, integration of innovative health promotion strategies, practice/clinical documentation and clinical education. Liaises with key stakeholders on the achievement of quality indicators and program goals and objectives. Ensures a high standard of care while promoting interdisciplinary practice and ensuring a safe environment for staff and clients. Quality client care is supported through a client/family centered care model in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision and values of the organization.

Administrates/oversees and provides supervision to designated staff and team professionals including continuous communications, conflict resolution, performance recognition, coaching, performance management, safe work and client transfer practices, workload and staffing issues. Conducts Attendance Wellness Promotion (AWP), Respectful Workplace, accommodation and other meetings in conjunction with an HR Advisor. Recruits, hires, selects, mentors and retains staff.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. Education & Experience
