Extendicare Cedars Villa in Calgary, AB invites applications for the position of Clinical Manager RN in the Larkspur Program. The role leads nursing care for a 45-bed unit focused on residents with mental health needs, reporting to the Director of Care for General Programs.

You will oversee clinical services, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive quality improvement initiatives while guiding a team of nurses and care staff in a supportive, resident-centered environment.

Qualifications

  • Registered nurse with current license in Alberta.
  • Gerontological Nursing Certificate preferred.
  • Experience in long-term care and mental health.
  • Minimum 1–2 years as charge nurse or in a leadership role.
  • Experience with RAI 2.0 and quality indicators.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee clinical care and services for residents.
  • Lead delivery of care using evidence-based practices.
  • Ensure standards of practice and scope of nursing.
  • Participate in CQI and multi-site strategic planning.
  • Liaise with government/regulatory bodies and ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to fiscal management and facility planning.
  • Provide direction on policies, safety, and OH&S.

Calgary, AB: Full time: Posted Today: R35608**Job Description**Candidates are invited to apply for the Full Time position of Clinical Manager Larkspur Program. Extendicare Cedars Villa, a 243-bed long-term care home, located in Calgary, Alberta. Larkspur program is a 45 bed unit that provides care to seniors with a mental health diagnosis. Reporting to the Director of care for General Programs is responsible for the clinical care and services offered to the residents. Responsibilities: • Facilitates, collaborates and oversees the delivery of resident care services, ensuring the implementation and evaluation of systems and processes to meet the care needs of the residents. • Ensures that professional standards are maintained with respective scope of practice and that a collaborative decision making model is utilized. • Participates actively in the leadership of multi-site strategic planning and Continuous Quality Improvement. • Ensures positive relations with government and regulatory bodies by complying with standards and guidelines and participating in best practice initiatives. • Participates in facility fiscal management. • Participates in facility strategic planning to align the nursing department in response to internal and external environmental challenges. • Ensure that implementation of policies and procedures are aligned with facility culture, vision, mission and values. • Provide direction in accordance with applicable Occupational Health and Safety legislation and Extendicare policy. • Provide leadership and support on RAI/MDS coding, auditing and data management.
