Your leadership and management skills are exceptional and as a highly motivated leader you have a proven track record of developing and maintaining strong community partnerships and relationships with all stakeholders across the continuum of health care.

Your portfolio consists of B2 Inpatient Rehabilitation Services and C2 Integrated Stroke Unit (ISU). Inpatient Rehabilitation is a post-acute inpatient unit which provides highly skilled care to patients who are receiving rehabilitation focused care. The ISU is part of the district stroke program providing best practice stroke care for patients requiring acute and rehab services. You will also provide oversight to the Stroke Prevention Clinic and Neurology Clinic.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Clinical Director of Access & Flow/IPAC//Post-Acute/Stroke Programs, the Clinical Manager of B2 Inpatient Rehabilitation and C2 Integrated Stroke Unit (ISU) is responsible for the development of patient care programs, unit operations and ensure the provision of clinical services resulting in safe, high quality patient care and outcomes. The Clinical Manager guides and supports an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure positive patient and family experiences in a quality care environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Director, the Manager:

  • Oversees the daily operations of the clinical unit to ensure safe, evidence-informed care is provided at the unit level for our patients and the community we serve.
  • Manages the unit resources (Human, Financial, and Physical) to deliver effective, efficient and safe patient care.
  • Oversee the effective management of patient flow and discharge planning and be accountable for identifying barriers to patient care needs and creating solutions.
  • Development and collaborative leadership of the program with physician partner(s) with a focus on quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or other health discipline, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in a formal leadership role in healthcare.
  • Member in good standing with a College recognized under the Regulated Health Professions Act.
  • Demonstration of transformational leadership qualities is an asset to effectively lead others during this unprecedented time in healthcare in order to meet the demands and accountabilities of an evolving healthcare system.
  • Previous experience with Neuroscience, Inpatient Stroke, and Rehabilitation
  • Previous experience with criteria for programs in alignment with the Rehab Care Alliance guidelines
  • Strong communicator and proven ability to facilitate timely resolution of patient and family issues in collaboration with the team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to BCHS’ patient and family centred care philosophy.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead effective interprofessional teams
  • Proven success in managing change and fostering a positive workplace culture
  • Proven ability to work with frontline staff to identify, promote and resolve quality issues
  • Knowledge of quality improvement principles and change management processes for QI and system advancement in healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge utilization, risk and financial management, collective agreements in healthcare
