Position

The Clinical Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the intake process for designated programs within the agency. This leadership position requires a minimum of three years of progressive management experience and a demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive innovation, and deliver measurable outcomes.

You will provide strong clinical supervision and exercise sound ethical judgment in managing client risk. A key aspect of the role involves analyzing and reporting on program performance across multiple funding streams, with proficiency in clinical data systems.

Responsibilities

As a Clinical Manager, you will:

Administration and Finance

  • Participate in quarterly reviews of team targets and goals.
  • Ensure program operations are maintained within the approved budget, communicating concerns to the Executive Director and participating in quarterly expenditure reviews.
  • Implement and monitor program activities in collaboration with other managers.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to analyze community needs impacting agency programs.

Team Management

  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new staff.
  • Attend team meetings and provide clinical supervision as needed.
  • Support disciplinary processes and manage employee relations, including grievance procedures.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals with clinical staff, set performance objectives, and monitor work performance.

Program Management

  • Monitor high-risk cases and vulnerable client issues, informing the Executive Director of matters requiring external reporting.
  • Review program data and submit statistical reports to funders and the Board via the Executive Director.
  • Prepare program proposals to meet organizational needs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of clinical expertise areas within the program to facilitate supervision and staff training.
  • Provide backup coverage for other agency programs when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Essential Qualifications

  • BSW or BA/HBA in Social Sciences, or MSW/MA in a related field.
  • Registration with a professional college authorized to grant psychotherapy practice designation in Ontario.
  • At least three (3) years of progressively responsible management experience in human service organizations.
  • At least five (5) years of direct clinical practice.
  • Relevant clinical experience in areas such as violence against women, EAP, addictions, developmental disabilities, sexual abuse, or counselling.
  • Proven competence in staff supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of the developmental services sector, clinical best practices in addiction services, and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience managing change, fostering innovation, and guiding teams through service transformations.
  • Ability to build stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively across sectors.
  • Familiarity with community partners and understanding of the Nipissing area.
  • Knowledge of community agencies and experience fostering inter-agency collaboration.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
