We are seeking a dynamic RT for an exciting leadership and education role supporting the Edmonton Zone Anesthesia departments. As the Clinical Instructor, you will mentor staff, promote clinical excellence, and support professional development within the expanded roles of the Respiratory Therapy and Anesthesia Care Team. This zone-wide position offers collaboration across multiple sites, the chance to influence patient care quality, and to shape the evolving scope of respiratory therapy in anesthesiology. Reporting to the Patient Care Manager – Centralized Surgical Programming and Planning and supported by Edmonton Zone anesthesiology leadership, this role provides autonomy and interdisciplinary connections. Description:

As a Clinical Instructor (Technologies), your main responsibilities include staff education, orientation, and continuing education across disciplines. You will promote best evidence-based patient care, provide direct patient care to maintain competency, and identify educational needs. You will also participate in quality assurance, lead or support research projects, and develop training modules for new equipment and therapies.

Required Qualifications:

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate from a recognized school of Respiratory Therapy. Current active registration with the CRTA College of Respiratory Therapy of Alberta. Current BCLS-HCP registration. 3-5 years' recent clinical experience as an Anesthesia Respiratory Therapist in acute care operating room and anesthesia settings. Current Anesthesia Assistant Certification or willingness to complete additional modules. Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, leadership, and collaboration skills. Self-directed, flexible, adaptable, and capable of managing change in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant Baccalaureate preferred. Advanced continuing education and educator experience preferred. Experience in developing evidence-based standards and quality assurance programs preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
