Job summary

Oak Valley Health in Markham, Ontario, invites nursing students in their final year to join the Clinical Extern Program. As an Unregulated Health Care Provider, the extern will gain hands-on experience in basic patient care within our nursing teams and report to the Manager.

Requirements include enrollment in an accredited School of Nursing (or BScN program), current BLS, and the ability to work all shifts in a fast-paced environment. Schedule: Mon–Fri; at least one shift weekly.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing or BScN program.
• Official transcript required if invited to interview.
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work all shifts and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on patient care experience within clinical programs.
• Assigned to a Staff Nurse and reporting to the Manager.
• Work in an interprofessional team environment while following privacy policies.
