Clinical Educator, Radiation Therapy

The Radiation Therapy Clinical Educator plans and directs radiation therapist education and supports the Radiation Therapy vision. The Clinical Educator in Radiation Therapy oversees:
- the development of knowledge, skills, ability, and aptitude of radiation therapy staff and students
- the enhancement of radiation therapy patient education programs
- the promotion of professional and public education regarding Radiation Therapy and Radiation Therapists
What you'll do
- Collaborate on clinical education for the Radiation Therapy Program, developing new training and clinical instruction, while maintaining clinical expertise through direct treatment and/or planning duties.
- Develop, incorporate, and evaluate education programs for staff and students, aligning with provincial Radiation Therapy initiatives.
- Ensure consistent administration of education and clinical instruction, supporting quality care standards within Cancer Centers.
- Coordinate clinical learning activities, providing instruction, assessment, and support to staff and students, in accordance with CAMRT certification requirements.
- Assist in integrating research, best practices, and process redesign into educational programs, reviewing and updating materials for leadership approval.
- Promote critical inquiry and identify new learning opportunities for staff and students.
- Monitor standards of care through observation, documentation review, and incident reports, consulting with leadership for follow-up as needed.
- Provide or facilitate clinical instruction in treatment application, planning, and patient assessment.
- Help define and implement professional standards, developing education that reflects advancements in practice.
- Create a culture supporting professional development through mentoring, role modeling, coaching, and team building.
- Assess clinical learning experiences, providing feedback and evaluations, and collaborating with leadership for follow-up.
What you bring
Qualifications:
- Recognition in Radiation Therapy with a relevant degree.
- Minimum three years of recent clinical experience.
- CAMRT certification preferred.
- Certificate/diploma in adult education with experience in curriculum development and program planning.
- Knowledge of Indigenous health disparities, anti-racism, and cultural safety, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Core Competencies:
- Understanding of Indigenous-specific and systemic racism, with initiatives to promote a safe, inclusive environment.
- Awareness of the social and historical contexts affecting Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with relevant legislative commitments.
You have:
- Educational, change agent, and research skills.
- Ability to teach, assess, organize work independently, and communicate effectively.
- Physical ability to perform duties and skills in CPR.
- A deep understanding of personal learning journeys related to anti-racism and systems change.

Job Type: Regular, Full-Time
Wage: $57.08 to $71.26 per hour
Location: 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria, BC V8R 6V5
