In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of the Regional Manager, Clinical Education or designate, the Clinical Educator Physiotherapist (PT) is responsible for identifying, planning, compiling, and delivering training sessions for staff to assist them in meeting their key competencies in compliance with scope. This includes compiling, implementing, and evaluating general and unit-specific orientation and education programs. The role also involves facilitating the development and ongoing maintenance of the department’s preceptorship/mentorship programs, and participating in the ongoing review and revision of patient care standards, policies, and procedures. Additionally, the Clinical Educator coordinates in-service programs aimed at meeting the continuing educational needs of staff.

Shift Rotation / Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:30 to 16:30.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia and eligible for membership with the Physiotherapy Association of BC.
  • Masters’ level education in a relevant discipline or equivalent level of education and training focused on health systems administration, education, and/or leadership.
  • Minimum of three (3) years related experience in various clinical practice areas such as acute, community, or residential care; one (1) year experience in a leadership/supervisory/educator role.
  • Completion of a course in adult education or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated teaching and supervisory/mentoring experience for a range of healthcare providers.
  • Valid BC Driver’s license.
