Job summary

Shared Health-Soins Communs in Winnipeg is seeking a Clinical Educator to lead learning initiatives for staff, assess learning needs, and plan, develop, implement and evaluate educational programs. The educator acts as a role model and change agent in a clinical setting.

You'll require experience in program planning and evaluation, clinical expertise in surgery or critical care, and credentials including CRNM registration and ACLS instructor status.

Qualifications

• Experience in program planning, development and evaluation required.

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or related undergraduate degree required.
• Master’s degree in Nursing or related discipline preferred.
• Certificate in adult education preferred.

Position Overview

Experience

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or related undergraduate degree required.
• Master’s degree in Nursing or related discipline preferred.
• Certificate in adult education preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Current registration with CRNM.
• Instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), required.
• Appropriate C.N.A. Certification (or equivalent), for program area.
• Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.

• Knowledge (this may include but not be limited to):

  • College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered nurses.
  • Canadian Nursing Association code of Ethics for Registered Nurses.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA), Regional Facility/unit policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Nursing care knowledge related to clinical areas.
  • Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Protection of Persons in Care Act, Mental Health Act, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions) and other legislated acts.
  • Principles of delegation.
• Ability to effectively work within an interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated evidence of personal and professional growth and development through continuing education and committee work required.
