Position Overview
Experience
  • Two years of clinical nutrition experience in a community or public health setting preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Bachelor’s degree in human nutrition, dietetics, or related area from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated.
  • Graduate of a recognized dietetic internship or practical training program, including Masters of Applied (Human) Nutrition programs accredited by the applicable certifying body.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Must be a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba. Membership with Dietitians of Canada (DC) is recommended.
  • CPR training requirements shall be in accordance with employer policy.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and respond with initiative.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Problem-solving and critical analysis skills.
  • Ability to apply evidence-based guidelines and professional standards.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and behavior change processes.
  • Ability to counsel and motivate individuals and groups.
  • Knowledge of food and nutrient analysis.
  • Proficiency in computerized environments.
  • Adherence to professional standards, ethics, and legal parameters.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
  • Work under stress and time constraints.
  • Potential exposure to infectious diseases, blood, body fluids, toxins, noise, allergens, and stress.
  • May encounter aggressive clients/visitors/staff.
  • Must be able to travel for meetings.
  • May require extended hours and shifts, including weekends.

This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks. The candidate is responsible for any service charges. Checks are current if obtained within six (6) months prior to employment start.

Employees cannot hold multiple positions across WRHA that total more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes various health centers and programs.
