Job Summary:

Registered Dietitians at Baycrest Hospital assess nutritional status, provide food and nutrition information, and support patients to improve their overall health. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Clinical Dietitian will provide monitoring, assessment, and follow-up for Baycrest’s geriatric population, according to the medical status and nutritional needs of each client, with the goal of optimizing nutritional status and quality of life.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform and document nutrition assessments.
  • Plan, monitor, and implement nutrition interventions.
  • Update client nutritional care plans and attend client care conferences.
  • Provide nutritional education and counseling to clients, families, and staff.
Qualifications include but are not limited to:
  • Current member of College of Dietitians of Ontario, in good standing.
  • Minimum of six months’ experience working in a Complex Continuing Care/Hospital Setting required.
  • Experience in providing enteral nutrition required.
  • Experience working as a member of an interprofessional team required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
  • Meditech, as well as specialized nutrition-related software knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and members of the interprofessional team.
  • Knowledge of or an interest in research.
