Required
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Food and Nutrition (or equivalent).
- Member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
- Understanding of learning/teaching methods, patient education and counselling principles.
- Ability to prepare and present educational material to patients/clients and staff in both individual and group settings.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision making and assessment skills.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a busy multidisciplinary situation.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
- Ability to provide client-centered care.
- Ability to prioritize workload.
Preferred
- Previous experience with enteral and parenteral nutrition.
- Previous experience with Meditech or other Electronic Medical Records.
Duties
- Assess the nutritional status and identify the factors which influence the nutritional well-being of patients/clients to enhance the development of the care plan.
- Implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the nutritional care plan for inpatients.
- Provide nutrition education/counselling to patients/clients and caregivers.
- Effectively and efficiently utilize resources to support nutrition care.
- Document patient care as per College of Dietitians of Ontario standards.
- Participate in team meetings and/or care conferences as needed.
- Evaluate service effectiveness and identify, recommend and implement quality improvement measures.
- On-going participation in continuing education.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.

MacIntosh Cancer Clinic. BGH works closely with the other three Quinte Health hospital teams, as well as regional and provincial health centres to serve our communities.
