**Who We’re Looking For:**

We are seeking trauma-focused clinicians who share our company values and mission, exemplify compassion, and thrive in a team. Our ideal candidate is an experienced, passionate, and forward-thinking self-starter eager to develop their expertise in a collaborative group practice setting.

We are looking for client-centred Registered Counsellors, Registered Social Workers, and Registered Psychologists dedicated to supporting clients recovering from the fallout of trauma, attachment wounding, anxiety, depression, addiction, chronic health concerns and other mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will bring formal training and experience in association-approved experiential trauma therapy modalities such as EMDR (EMDRIA Approved), DBR, OEI, IFS (IFSI validated), Somatic Therapy, Art Therapy, AEDP, EFT, Gottman Couples Therapy, or other comparable models.

This individual should strive for competency and ethical conduct in their practice and be deeply committed to growth in their education and training. We value those who are proactive, possess a genuine love of learning, and are eager to embrace new challenges in a team.

Our team fosters an environment of fun and play, making it essential that candidates share our enthusiasm for creating a positive, engaging and collaborative workplace. We are looking for candidates interested in a long-term commitment, ready to invest in their career while contributing to the growth and development of our clinic in line with our shared values. A curious mindset and a desire to explore innovative approaches to trauma-focused therapy will help ensure success in our collaborative environment.

If you’re looking to join a supportive team that values both personal and professional growth, we would love to hear from you!

Qualified candidates for the position at Providence Therapy must meet the following requirements:

1. Association Approved or Recognized Trauma-Focused Training: Candidates must be trained in at least one experiential trauma-focused therapeutic modality, such as EMDR, OEI, DBR, IFS, AEDP, EFT, Trauma Focused Art Therapy, Somatics, etc., recognized by the affiliated governing association. For example, EMDR training must be EMDRIA-approved. If formal associations are not relevant, or experience was gained through hands-on mentorship with a licensed supervisor or training professional outside a training environment, adequate training parameters will be as follows. 1. Training will require that participants hold a valid professional license and offer in-person or live online interactive sessions (often over several days). 2. Training will include theoretical education, case study exploration and supervised practice hours to ensure hands-on experience. 3. Qualifying training will further require that practitioners demonstrate their competency by passing certain skills assessments or evaluations while maintaining adherence to modality-specific ethical guidelines.

Engagement in ongoing education is essential, and formal training may require membership in relevant professional organizations. This qualification contrasts with more general training, where a clinician may have experience or education with a specific model of care, but has been self-taught or developed using pre-recorded or brief seminars that do not require the higher standard of hands-on supervised practice and evaluation measures noted above.

2. Adequate Educational Background: A minimum of a master’s degree in counselling psychology or a related field is required. This academic foundation is essential for providing high-quality therapeutic services to our clients.

3. Clinical Experience: Our ideal applicants will have at least two years of clinical (client-facing) experience following their master's degree graduation, and these candidates will receive priority. However, we also understand that more years of practice do not necessarily ensure a better fit within our team. Therefore, we encourage applicants with fewer years of experience who possess other essential qualities we are seeking, recognizing that this approach to hiring can create greater opportunities for values-aligned mentorship and long-term growth within our clinic environment.

4. Current Professional Registration in British Columbia/ Canada: Candidates must be registered with an appropriate affiliated regulating body in British Columbia that is recognized by most insurance providers. This registration is crucial for maintaining a baseline for professional standards and ensuring that practitioners are eligible to provide reimbursable services.

These qualifications ensure that our team consists of skilled professionals dedicated to the effective treatment of trauma and committed to nurturing the growth and healing of our clients.

5. Reside within British Columbia by the start of work. Qualified candidates should reside in or be within a reasonable commuting distance of Vancouver, British Columbia, and must have the legal right to work in Canada by the time they begin employment. We will not consider applicants who are planning to relocate or require work sponsorship, as it is essential for our team members to be readily available and authorized to work in the country. This requirement ensures that we can maintain a seamless operation and foster a collaborative environment for all staff members from the outset.

*Key Responsibilities*

- Independently provide comprehensive clinical services, including assessment, diagnosis if qualified, treatment, progress evaluation, and discharge for clients referred to you.

- Document and report on cases for clinical and administrative case conferencing and management.

- Actively participate in professional development and training.

- Collaborate within a team while demonstrating autonomy in clinical practice.

- Support and motivate clients to achieve their treatment goals.

*Other Qualifications:*

- Master's degree or higher in Clinical Counselling or Psychology.

- Registration with an applicable professional body.

- Current Professional Liability Insurance.

- Training and experience in trauma processing treatment ( See Above )

- Passion for client-centred and collaborative care.

- Eligibility to work in Canada/ British Columbia

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Commitment to our core values of curiosity, collaboration, kindness, generosity, and diversity of thought.

- Ideally, two years of recent related experience post master's degree in areas such as depression, anxiety, relationship counselling, attachment wounding, chronic health concerns, stress management, and complex trauma.

- Motivated by evidence-based practices.

- Ability to commit to a minimum of 15 client hours per week.

- Proven success in establishing and maintaining client relationships.

- Professional training in experiential modalities such as EMDR, Art Therapy, Somatic or Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, IFS, Mindfulness-based training, OEI, and expertise in working with Dissociation. Neurofeedback training and Emotion-Focused Therapy, Sex Therapy or couples training are assets.

At Providence Therapy, your growth as a practitioner is our shared success! If this opportunity resonates with you and you would like to be a part of our team, please email your cover letter and resume.
