Job summary

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba is seeking two Complaint Investigators (1.0 FTE) to assist with resolving complaints about registrants. Responsibilities include investigating issues, reviewing medical records, interviewing stakeholders, and preparing an Investigator’s Report for the Investigation Committee.

Qualifications include a regulated health professional with extensive clinical experience, ability to interpret legislation, and strong ethics.

Qualifications

  • Regulated Health Professional with a minimum of 8 years of clinical experience; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience reviewing and investigating complaints is an asset; full training provided.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legislation, standards, and protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Review complaints against CPSM registrants for jurisdictional and privacy issues.
  • Investigate concerns, review medical records, and summarize relevant care.
  • Interview registrants and complainants as needed to address issues.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel on applicable legal or process issues.
  • Prepare an Investigator's Report detailing circumstances, documents, analysis, and recommendations for the Investigation Committee.
  • Attend Investigation Committee meetings to provide information or clarification.
