Hollywood Private Hospital is looking for a Qualified Clinical Coder to join our Clinical Coding Team on a Permanent full-time or part-time basis!

About the Role

As a clinical coder you will be responsible for abstracting and assigning accurate diagnostic and procedure codes for all inpatient episodes.

You will be supported by the onsite Clinical Coding Educator and work with highly regarded Clinical Coding Team.

About You

To thrive in this role, you should be adaptable, possess exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills, and constantly demonstrate courtesy and sensitivity when dealing with patients, the public, and fellow team members.

You will have:

  • Clinical Coding qualifications from Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) or equivalent, or Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management)
  • 2 years and over of experience in abstracting and coding across a wide Casemix.
  • Sound and updated knowledge of ICD-10-AM 12th edition, National and local coding standards.
  • Knowledge and understanding of DRG and Casemix.
  • Demonstrated good understanding of anatomy, physiology, diseases, and pathological processes.
  • Good analytical and abstracting skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage time to meet deadlines.
  • Participate in regular continuing professional education.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and patient Management Systems
