Yukon Hospitals is seeking a Nursing Manager to oversee clinical and personnel management at Whitehorse General Hospital. Our organization is an integrated system of hospitals: Whitehorse General Hospital (58 beds), Watson Lake Community Hospital (6 beds), and Dawson City Community Hospital (6 beds).
Reporting to the Director of Nursing at Whitehorse General Hospital, the incumbent is responsible for the clinical, financial, and personnel management of the patient care unit on a 24-hour basis.
The successful candidate will have a Diploma or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of nursing experience related to the assigned department/unit. Candidates must hold a valid Yukon Registered Nurses Association license and current CPR certification. Preference will be given to candidates with 3 to 5 years of management experience in Surgical Services / OR; additional qualifications such as ACLS, PALS, mental health nursing experience, advanced education in nursing management, financial management, staff development, postgraduate certifications, a Master's in Nursing or Leadership, and MediTech experience are desirable.
