Job summary

Air Liquide Home Healthcare Canada is seeking a Clinical Assistant in Vancouver, BC to support administrative tasks, storefront operations for oxygen and CPAP, and patient-focused service in respiratory therapy. The position requires a medical office background, strong data entry and Microsoft Office skills, and flexible hours to serve clients with care and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • College Certificate or Diploma in Medical Office Administration or medical background preferred.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, ERP & Google systems with strong data entry skills and selling skills.
  • 1-2 years of experience in general office practice.
  • Able to work flexible hours and provide service to our customers for extended hours.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates administrative tasks and supports storefront operations for oxygen, PAP, and related therapeutics.
  • Maintains safety by following procedures and reporting unsafe practices.
  • Operates and troubleshoots equipment; arranges repairs as needed.
  • Supports supervisors and staff with daily office duties and data management.
  • Assists with CPAP inventory, appointments, and client education.

What You’ll Do
  • The Clinical Assistant facilitates the administrative aspects, and offers support in the storefront area as it pertains to oxygen, PAP, and related therapeutics and diagnostics in the branch.
  • Committed to contributing towards a safe work environment by obeying safety procedures and policies, working and encouraging others to perform in a safe manner at all times.
  • Reports unsafe occurrences and/or practices.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; and arranging for repairs.
  • Contributes to the growth of VitalAire by liaising with medical professionals; providing information/literature to prospective clients; providing demonstration of products and services to prospective clients.
  • Provides support for supervisors, managers, sales and healthcare staff by performing daily office duties such as; typing and proofreading documents, photocopying, filing, completing bank deposits, opening and maintaining client chart, sorting and distributing file and documents, maintaining all database systems, maintaining high standards of inventory as well as preparing bank deposits, remittance forms and financial transactions.
  • Provides friendly and helpful service to customers by greeting the public, providing specific information as it pertains to CPAP therapy.
  • Assists with sales and maintenance of CPAP inventory for the branch.
  • Assists with sales of CPAP supplies to walk-in clients when requiring specific education to client.
  • Jointly booking CPAP appointments and follow up for clients at the Branch.
  • Contributes to team effort by working with other staff to achieve optimal customer service.
  • Participates in home testing for diagnosis purposes within the supervision of a healthcare professional.
  • Assists healthcare professionals with the completion of necessary processes and forms, assisting with the cleaning & maintenance of CPAP equipment during in-service to client; informs clients of the requirements to meet funding program criteria, and answer their questions.
  • Documents client care services by charting in client records.
  • Facilitates payment by preparation of funding documents, and maintaining knowledge of funding systems.
  • Maintains client confidence and protects VitalAire operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Protects clients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
  • Seeks to continuously improve the operation of the branch by evaluating processes and workflow, and participating in other quality improvement activities, as well as self growth and learning.
  • Provides after hours service to clients by participating in branch on-call rotation.
  • Other duties as required.

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualification and other job-related reasons.

This job grade falls within a salary band starting at the minimum of $45,000 with opportunity for advancement.
