The UW Health Verona Family Medicine Clinic is seeking a Family Medicine physician to join as residency faculty. This position will include full spectrum family medicine with maternity care (OB) optional.
Duties include providing clinical care to patients, teaching and supervising residents, medical students, and other learners. Teaching occurs in clinical settings and scheduled learning sessions. The role involves participating in the residency faculty call schedule, covering inpatient med/peds and OB, attending departmental meetings, and performing administrative duties. There may also be opportunities for collaborative initiatives within UW-SMPH & UW Health, and work on nursing home visits. The candidate should promote an inclusive environment and have experience or willingness to work with diverse populations.
We seek family medicine physicians skilled in engaging with patients and working in teams, with effective communication, collaboration, accountability, compassion, and ethical decision-making. A commitment to teaching, continuous learning, quality improvement, and potential leadership interests are valued. Opportunities exist for practicing OMT, Integrative Health, inpatient medicine, POCUS, and more, along with formal teaching and scholarly activities.

Required: Terminal Degree (MD, DO, or equivalent).
Successful completion of an accredited Family Medicine Residency Program by the start date. For higher academic ranks, criteria outlined by the department and School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines apply.
Required: Wisconsin Medical License before start date. Board Certified or eligible by ABFM or AOBFP by the start date.
Full or Part Time: 50%-100%. Work is expected to be performed onsite at a designated campus location.

The department is large, with extensive clinical, educational, and research programs, including over 150 residents and 400 medical students annually. The department supports various clinical interests and leadership opportunities. Clinical duties are defined with department approval based on career interests and clinical needs.
