Join our dedicated team at the CARE Program at BC Women's Hospital, where you'll play a vital role in supporting patients in a respectful and empowering environment.

The Clinic Nurse provides nursing care to patients within the CARE Program. As part of the role, the RN works as a member of the CARE Program's multi-disciplinary team and provides outpatient nursing activities such as patient assessment, patient teaching, clinic procedures, and health promotion activities consistent with established clinic policies. 2. Support and care for patients including preparation for pregnancy termination, administration of conscious sedation, and managing recovery post-procedure.
  3. Educate patients prior to procedures and provide care during and after procedures, maintaining standards of care during conscious sedation.
  4. Streamline procedure appointments and surgical scheduling to ensure safe and efficient patient care, reviewing patient history and noting allergies, risk factors, and medications.
  5. Maintain related records, including patient records, data sheets, and procedural forms.
  6. Participate in program and policy development by providing feedback on nursing policies and leading daily workflow sessions as needed.
  7. Contribute to policy and operational requirements by observing service needs and offering suggestions to improve patient and family care and resource use.
  8. Participate in emergency preparedness activities, including checking crash carts, mock codes, and responding to emergencies.
