List of Requirements
Training, Education, and Experience
- Experienced rock climber with a strong foundation of climbing gym operations
- 2-3 years of customer service experience/experience working with the public
- Experience working point of sale (e.g. Square)
- Experience working with climbing gym CRM software (e.g. RockGymPro) is an asset
- Experience teaching belay classes or other climbing classes is an asset
- ACMG Level 1 is an asset
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of rock climbing (indoor and outdoor)
- Ability to motivate and inspire teammates and new climbers
- Intermediate technical skills and proficiency with Google Suite
List of Duties
- Oversee gym operations, including majority of front desk shifts (at least one weekend shift)
- Deliver excellent customer service and ensure a positive member experience
- Lead and coordinate youth climbing teams and clubs
- Perform regular safety inspections and reporting
- Manage company email, respond within 48 hours, and oversee bookings (groups, birthdays, lessons, etc.)
- Supervise, schedule, hire, and train front desk staff and route setters; fill in shifts if necessary
- Ensure high-quality route setting with regular rotation and constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, staff, and member information
- Oversee social media presence, promotions, and community outreach in line with the co-op’s social media guide
- Keep the website and social media up to date with relevant programs and events
- Support programming, fundraising campaigns, and special events
- Attend monthly Board of Directors meetings, provide updates, and collaborate on projects aligned with the Business Plan
