Position Overview

As a Climbing Arborist with Davey Tree, you will work in the field, primarily in the canopy, handling tree and vegetation management. You will interact directly with the public, applying your expertise to ensure quality and timeliness of work.

Job Duties

1. Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood at various heights.
2. Installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
3. Maintaining and operating tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
4. Assisting with job site setup, debris removal, and cleanup.
5. Following safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

1. Experience safely ascending tree canopies.
2. At least 1 year of climbing experience.
3. Certified Arborist or willingness to obtain certification.
4. Strong identification skills for trees, knots, and shrubs.
5. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
6. Valid driver’s license, with license to operate a 5-ton vehicle; Airbrake endorsement is a plus.
7. Background in Forestry, Horticulture, or Landscaping preferred.
