Your Opportunity

Stantec seeks motivated individuals to champion the continuous growth of our services in the climate change mitigation and resilience markets. The ideal candidate will have an education in the technical and social issues related to climate change impacts on the built environment, and experience in integrating climate change risks into life-cycle and asset management plans, including resiliency strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in projects to identify risks and impacts to the environment.
  • Assess infrastructure vulnerabilities to climate change.
  • Recommend risk mitigation and climate adaptation measures, including design or operational adjustments.
  • Perform climate analysis, regional profiling, and interpret data for risk assessment.
  • Write high-quality reports for clients and the public, translating complex concepts clearly.
  • Contribute to meetings and workshops, including preparing presentations.
  • Collaborate with clients and expand relationships to generate repeat business.
  • Work with practitioners across multiple offices globally.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Knowledge of global climate change challenges and risk assessment tools like PIEVC Protocol, ICLEI BARC, or Canada’s Climate Lens.
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; skills in RStudio, Python, and GIS are assets.
  • Collaborative and driven to succeed at Stantec.
  • Open to applicants across Canada.
  • Willing to travel occasionally within Canada and internationally.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, planning, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of consulting or relevant experience, especially in infrastructure design/operation or climate science.
  • Experience in project or client management is a plus but not required.

Pay Range

  • Outside Lower Mainland, BC: $62,000 - $89,900
  • Lower Mainland, BC: $65,700 - $95,300

Final compensation depends on qualifications and experience. Some roles are bonus-eligible.
