Arcadis is seeking a Climate Adaptation Solution Director to join our team in Canada. Climate adaptation is an area in which Arcadis is recognized as an industry leader and represents a cornerstone of our business as we ensure that our communities continue to thrive in the face of climate uncertainty by providing full climate adaptation measures across the life cycle of any asset, from risk mapping, vulnerability assessments, and community-based resilience plans to the design and engineering of flood defense systems and stormwater infrastructure.

Our core disciplines include: climate risk & mitigation/adaptation planning, design and engineering of integrated flood resilience solutions, hydraulic design and construction, dams and river basins, resilient ports & waterways, including berths, jetties, quay walls, and breakwaters, focusing on safety, economic, and environmental progress.

This is a senior, market-facing leadership position within our Resilience Global Business Area, partnering with sector, account, and sales leaders to grow our climate adaptation business in Canada.

The Climate Adaptation Solution Director reports to the Canada Sales Director, with dotted-line collaboration to the Climate Adaptation Global Solutions Director. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Arcadis’ technical solutions and the ability to develop compelling, future-focused offerings for clients, along with strong leadership and motivational skills. Business acumen, understanding of P&L, and recognition as a collaborative leader are essential.

The successful candidate will work with the client development team to execute our Resilience Climate Adaptation go-to-market strategy and collaborate with account and project teams to deliver exceptional client experiences. They will also work with the Canadian leadership team to:

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of client needs, emerging issues, market trends, and regulatory drivers.
• Assess our competitors’ positions.
• Develop industry-leading insights to create differentiated, value-added technical solutions aligned with our global strategy.

The Director will focus on growing our Climate Adaptation offerings by supporting technical and client teams, capturing market data, and fostering discussions to enhance client engagement. They will bring together stakeholders, communicate Arcadis’ position externally, and collaborate across sectors and regions to drive profitable growth, develop innovative solutions, share best practices, and build a credible portfolio that generates sales and revenue.

This role will promote global collaboration in Climate Adaptation, exchanging innovative approaches and value propositions across geographies, and supporting digital transformation and data analytics initiatives. They will coordinate with the Global Climate Adaptation Solution Director to build global capabilities through cross-regional meetings and the use of Global Excellence Centers.

The Solution Director will support strategic pursuits, participate in client-facing activities during proposals and presentations, and collaborate with the Global Solution Director to share knowledge and innovative ideas that enhance our reputation and secure opportunities.

Success will be measured by sustained growth, diversification of services, expansion into new markets, increased visibility at industry events, active social media engagement, and effective recruitment, development, and mentorship of team members.
