Client to Backend Test Engineer - ASE App Store

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada | Sector: Software and Services

Description

The daily responsibilities include bug reporting and isolation, test plan documentation, writing test case automation, and collaborating closely with engineering, project management, and other teams. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses strong technical and communication skills, and can contribute effectively in a team environment. They should have exceptional analytical skills for test case design and bug diagnosis, be dynamic in testing/regression of high volumes of changes, and demonstrate excellent bug reporting and communication skills. An interest or ability to implement automated tests is also required.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
2. Adaptability to a fast-paced environment
3. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Commitment to quality assurance within the software development cycle and willingness to work cross-functionally
6. Experience with REST API testing and automation
7. Familiarity with Charles proxy for monitoring network traffic (a plus)
8. Experience with querying data from distributed systems like HDFS/S3 using Jupyter notebooks

Preferred Qualifications

1. Familiarity with Objective-C or Swift
2. Knowledge of SQL, Spark, CSS, HTML, JSON
3. Purposeful, persistent, and meticulous approach

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is between $104,000 and $156,100, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
