Position

Client Services Support, Eastern Canada (CS2)

Location: ALS Geochemistry, Sudbury

Reports to: Director of Client Services, Geochemistry, North America

General Accountability

This role supports the North America Client Services team by handling a variety of responsibilities, including daily operations, managing interdivisional and small client accounts, onboarding new clients, and assisting with client appreciation events and business development activities. The goal is to ensure clients receive accurate, efficient service while upholding a high professional standard both internally and externally.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day support to the ECAN Client Services teams, including CPT creation and checking, quote generation and review, data file extraction, and completion of vendor forms.
  • Manage interdivisional client relationships and quotes, including those from ALSE, ALS Metallurgy, and other international ALS divisions.
  • Deliver high-quality client service to both external clients and global ALS branches by providing accurate information on analytical methods, quality control processes, and turnaround times.
  • Support client onboarding to ensure a smooth and professional transition to ALS services.
  • Assist with answering emails in the ECA Client Services inbox.
  • Maintain and update client contact information in the GEMS system.
  • Assist with planning and attending local trade shows, including registration, booth setup, and logistical support.
  • Support regional client appreciation events, including invitation management and event setup.
  • Contribute to business development activities by organizing promotional materials, assisting with event logistics, coordinating travel arrangements, and managing registrations.
  • Coordinate and manage client sample returns from multiple laboratories, as needed.
  • Distribute failed reports to global stakeholders in a timely and organized manner.
  • Prepare turnaround time (TAT) reports for top-tier clients, as required.
  • Respond to client phone calls on the Client Services phone line, providing accurate and helpful information.
  • Keep internal departments and Account Managers informed of client updates, special instructions, and inquiries.
  • Adhere to all ALS health and safety policies and procedures and comply with established safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrates integrity, creativity and adaptability in daily tasks.
Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the periodic table of elements is essential.
  • Bilingual (French/English) preferred.
  • Recognized Degree or Technical Diploma in Geological or Chemical Sciences or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in mineral exploration, a laboratory environment, or a related service industry is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a customer service role is preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit at a desk and perform general office duties, including routine administrative tasks.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day).
  • Ability to communicate effectively via telephone and email without assistance.
