Job summary

Apex Group Ltd (UK Branch) in Mississauga is seeking a senior professional to lead hedge fund client relationships and drive cross-sell of services. You will oversee US GAAP & IFRS reporting for various fund structures and manage NAV preparation for hedge fund clients.

The role requires ~5+ years in the hedge fund sector, strong leadership, and a keen eye for process automation and compliance with KYC/AML requirements. Four days in office per week with discretionary annual bonus potential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in the hedge fund/ fund services sector.
• Strong understanding of complex fund structures and fund accounting.
• High level of client service orientation and commercial awareness.
• Experience leading a team and supervising professionals.
• Proven ability to automate processes and improve efficiency.
• Knowledge of investor KYC and AML requirements.

• Lead the client relationship management for Hedge Fund clients.

• Assist in developing global client relationships and optimizing offerings.

• Ensure adherence to procedures and policies and timely delivery of deliverables.
• Collaborate with operational centres on large fund administration mandates.
• Contribute to internal and global projects as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the client relationship management for Hedge Fund clients
• Actively cross selling our suite of services to our client base
• US GAAP & IFRS reporting standard for various fund structures
• Assisting in the development of new & existing global client relationships, optimizing service offerings, productivity and profitability
• Management of the complete audit process
• Assist in the management of the NAV preparation and review process for our Hedge Fund clients
• Ensuring adherence to documented procedures and policies
• Work on the integration of large fund administration mandates
• Collaborating with operational centres
• Working on ad hoc internal and global projects (as required)
• Ensure all deliverables are met on a timely and accurate basis

Skills Required

• Approximately 5+ years’ experience
• An understanding of complex fund structures and fund accounting to act as subject matter expert to team
• A high degree of commercial awareness and client service focus
• Prior experience working in the industry
• Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience of other professionals
• Excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work on own initiative consistently producing accurate and timely work
• Good interpersonal skills to develop working relationships with colleagues, clients, other divisions and professional intermediaries
• A professional accounting qualification a plus
• Demonstrated ability to automate processes
• Knowledge of investor KYC and AML requirements

Salary ranges from CAD $80,000.00 – CAD $120,000.00 plus additional discretionary yearly bonus based on corporate and individual's performance. Compensation within this range is dependent on individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
