Red Nucleus is hiring a Client Engagement Manager to join our global Medical Communications team. This home-based role supports US or Canada clients, with hybrid options if you can commute to Toronto, San Francisco, Boston, or Yardley, PA.

The role anchors client relationships, leads medical publications programs, coordinates with Creative, Editorial, Digital, and Project teams, and ensures work is delivered on time, on scope, and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Life Sciences or related field.
  • 4–6+ years of experience in medical communications or related fields.
  • Strong client communication and relationship management.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (PhRMA, Open Payments)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary day-to-day client contact for assigned accounts and projects.
  • Lead execution of medical communications programs from initiation to completion.
  • Lead regular client status meetings, agendas, updates, and follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with Creative, Editorial, Digital, Project teams for day-to-day execution.
  • Review deliverables for alignment with objectives and regulatory guidance.
  • Manage project and account financials including budget tracking and invoicing.
  • Develop change orders and support proposal/SOW development as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, compliance requirements and industry regulations.
  • Support MLR review processes and document submission systems (e.g., Veeva).
  • Participate in onsite meetings, advisory boards, congress activities and speaker programs.
  • Coach and support junior team members; identify opportunities for growth.
  • Contribute to organic growth and support business development efforts.

Job Overview

TheClient Engagement Manageris responsible for managing day-to-day client relationships and leading the successful execution of medical communications (specifically medical publications deliverables) programs across assigned accounts and projects.This role serves as a key liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring initiatives are strategically aligned, delivered on time and within budget, and meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.

The Client Engagement Manager articulates the client’s vision for each project, translatesobjectivesinto clear direction for internal teams, and ensures deliverables align to agreed strategies, metrics, and regulatory requirements. This individual thrives in a fast-paced agency environment,demonstratesstrong judgment and attention to detail, and is viewed by clients and colleagues as a dependable, solutions-oriented partner.

Responsibilities
  • Serving as the primary day-to-day client contact for assigned accounts and projects, delivering consistentlyhigh levelsof client service.
  • Leading execution of medical communications programs from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery to scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards.
  • Leading regular client status meetings, preparing agendas, status updates, and meeting recaps withtimelyfollow-up.
  • Collaborating closely with Creative, Editorial, Digital, Project to manage day-to-day execution.
  • Review deliverablesto ensure alignment to clientobjectivesand feedbackas well as compliantwith regulatory guidance and client processes as applicable.
  • Managing project and account financials, including budget tracking,invoicing, reconciliations, and identification of scope changes.
  • Developing and managing change orders and supporting proposal and SOW development as needed
  • Ensuring adherence to agency and client SOPs, compliance requirements, and industry regulations (e.g., PhRMA, Open Payments).
  • Supervising and supporting the medical/regulatory/legal (MLR) review process, including document submission systems (e.g., Veeva).
  • Participating in onsite client meetings, advisory boards, congress activities, and speaker programs as needed.
  • Coaching and supporting junior team members providing guidance, feedback, and workload prioritization.
  • Contributing to organic growth through identification of new opportunities and support of business development efforts.
EducationandExperience
Education
  • Bachelor’s degreerequired(Communications, Marketing, Life Sciences, or related field preferred). Advanced degree a plus.
Experience
  • 4-6+ years of experience in medical communications, medical education, pharma marketing, or related fields.
Knowledge,Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of the life sciences industry, therapeutic landscapes, and drug development process
  • Financial acumen including forecasting, SOW development, and profitability management
  • Strong client communication and relationship management skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail with commitment to quality, accuracy, and compliance
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office and project management systems
